Retaliation After Harm
Wrath
Core question: “When I am hurt, how do I respond?”
What it seeks or protects
What happens after harm, betrayal, or unfair treatment—whether the response moves toward retaliation or restraint from retaliation.
Constructive expression
Facing harm directly, seeking accountability, and protecting yourself or others when something has gone wrong.
Imbalance risk
When punishment becomes the only acceptable ending, anger can continue occupying your life after the original event is over.
In relationships
Repair, distance, and accountability are different choices. Refusing retaliation does not require returning to contact or restoring trust.
Under pressure
After harm, urgency can blur the difference between stopping a threat and making someone suffer in return.
Balance check
Would this response protect, repair, or retaliate—and which of those outcomes am I choosing?
Setting boundaries, gathering evidence, or pursuing legitimate remedies does not automatically count as Wrath.
